New Direction & Makeover
I'm so excited to be launching a New direction and an updated version of my 'Joanne Boyle Photography' website.
Over the last 20 odd years, I have done a whole variety of different types of photography; from Weddings, Horse & owner in a gorgeous outdoor setting, to Personal branding photography for businesses and now I'm changing to focus my attention on Visual Storytelling for Artist & Makers.
I had stepped away from branding photography for a couple of years now, after having a bit of a bad experience, and I redirected my time on creating artwork and learning surface pattern design. Which was so exciting...
And then this last year, I noticed a gradually pull back towards it...
I had been using photography in personal projects and in my art charity work, and I had forgotten how comfortable I feel when I am behind the camera.
It's like a shield of armour, and my alter ego was emerging and coming out onto the open again.
LOL... It sounds ridiculous I know, talking about an alter ego.
But if you put a camera into my hands I honestly feel like a different person... Not sure why?
Is there anything that you do that makes you feel this way?
I realised then how much I had been missing the photography process, the people, the engagement and the chat. All while taking the photos and putting people at ease.
Before I knew it I started to offer out my services again, to a select few and, my next observation- was the people I had been offering this service out to were other 'Artists.'
And it makes total sense- they are my type of people, I understand them and I am one too.
I have lots of things in common, and immediately feel comfortable in any artists company.
"A no brainer really!"
So here it is folks, a couple of realisations and a natural pull, and I have evolved into this new phase of photography.
I'm really excited to meet lots of new creatives, see their processes. And I can't wait to capture their love of their craft on film as much as I enjoy being behind the camera.
I wonder, when they put on their apron or pick up a paintbrush, do they suddenly feel the same way as me, with my camera, as they flow into the artists creative mode. Ha Ha.
